I've cracked a lot of jokes these past 6 years and I have cracked up on certain jokes myself. But the next one really takes the cake. Really takes the cake.
"*** University announces a comprehensive viva on December 5,2008", failing which they cannot pursue their Final Year project"
Here is what is boils down to: Take everything we have learnt in these 4 years( 3 and a half actually). 100 marks, 2 hours, about 100 questions.
Come on, I know that we should have a thorough idea of the core subjects. That is essentially the concept behind higher education. But wasn't that what the Term exams were for? To test our flourishing "knowledge"? Doesn't our "A" and "S" grades mean anything now? And here is something. They want to test us again on what we know. Meaning, they think we would have forgotten what we learnt till now, meaning that we learnt by rote, memorizing pages of useless data and graphs and then forgot about it after the exam, meaning that the education system still shamelessly soldiers on despite the fact the they know that our foundations are weaker than paper.
And we wonder why those people at MIT and Standford are so freaking smart.
Intelligent, Rebellious and Free Thinking anyone?
P.s. Happy birthday wishes to The Hot Breads Blogger!
